SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15
Registration starts at 8:30 am, the conference will adjourn at 3:00 pm
The conference will include worship, speakers, lunch, workshops, and opportunities to gain understanding about Amendment 14-F, proposed to the presbyteries by the 221st General Assembly.
This conference is intentionally designed for listening and learning before our presbyteries vote. So whether you are a “Yes” “No” or “Undecided” we encourage you to attend.
Covenant Network’s Executive Director Brian Ellison and National Organizer Tricia Dykers Koenig will participate in our conference. Rev. Ellison will be our conference preacher.
Keynote Speaker Mark Achtemeier, a teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), is a theologian and writer. He has served the church as a pastor and professor, and was a member of the Theological Task Force on the Peace, Unity, and Purity of the Church. His most recent book is: The Bible’s Yes to Same-Sex Marriage: An Evangelical’s Change of Heart,
It “chronicle[s] the journey with the Bible that took [him] from a personal stance of judgment and exclusion to a changed heart that longs for the day when the church will fully celebrate and participate in God’s blessing of same-gender relationships.”

Looking at the Marriage Amendment, 14-F: Its implications for individuals and the denomination – led by Tricia Dykers Koenig, Covenant Network National Organizer
Struggling with Scripture: What the Bible does and doesn’t say about homosexuality – led by Mark Achtemeier
Why Marriage Matters: Personal Stories – led by a panel discussing why same-gender marriage makes an important difference in their lives
Making Moral Decisions – led by Dr. Bradley Brummel, Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Tulsa. He will discuss how moral judgments are made, and how folks across the conservative-progressive religious spectrum often make their decisions primarily through different bases/filters.
